The top performing colleges of North Georgia College & State University and Gainesville State College were united as one in 2013, leading to the formation of the University of North Georgia which is one of the largest public universities in the US state of Georgia. The 6 colleges of the College of Arts and Letters, the College of Education,the Mike Cottrell College of Business, University College, the College of Science and Mathematics, the College of Health Sciences & Professions and the Lewis F. Rogers Institute for Environmental & Spatial Analysis are the academic schools which together offer the programs at the university. The university offers a plethora of associate degrees, undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, online and certificate programs in the areas of STEM, Health, Humanities, Business, Education and Social Sciences and all its programs have been accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). Blue Ridge, Cumming, Dahlonega, Gainesville and Oconee are the 5 campuses of the university.
