University of Leeds was established in 1904 and is one of the largest institutions for higher education in the UK. They are renowned globally for their quality of teaching and research and is a member of the prestigious Russell Group of research-intensive universities in the UK. The University’s origins date back to the 19th century with the founding of the Leeds School of Medicine in 1831 and then the Yorkshire College of Science in 1874. In 1904, the University was granted charter as an independent institution. The University of Leeds is affiliated with ACU, Association of MBAs, CDIO, EQUIS, EUA, N8 Group, Universities UK, White Rose Consortium and other academic bodies. According to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2022, the University of Leeds ranks #127 and #16 in the Impact Rankings for 2021

Infrastructure, Campuses and Courses

Leeds is a great place to live and the University’s campus is only a short walk away from the City Center. Spanning about 100 acres, the University of Leeds campus is an urban infrastructure that still retains the original, historic buildings of the University. The campus also features two galleries with regularly changing exhibitions and is full of outdoor installations to enjoy - including the Spirit of Enterprise/Hermes, Lenten Cover, Decrepit Memories and more. With over 1400 trees, the University of Leeds campus makes for a conducive environment to study and learn.
