The University of Deusto is one of the privately-owned Spanish universities that runs under the guidance of the Society of Jesus. It is the oldest private university in Spain and has two campuses located in Bilbao and San Sebastian. It was established in 1886 because the Basque nation wanted to have its own university, and its building is designed by the famous architect Francisco de Cubas in Bilbao. The university faced many ups and downs during the civil war and post-war. The university has its main campus at Bilbao, which is opposite to the Guggenheim Museum, one of the most significant buildings of its time. Several education programs offered at the university are Arts and Humanities, Law, Social Sciences, Business, and Economics, etc. The other campus of the university, San Sebastian, offers students an excellent opportunity to explore their skills and gain knowledge at Matteo Ricci Technology building, arboretum, and advanced library. It is also a member of the Aristos Campus Mundus 2015 project. All the education programmes of the university are tailored in such a way that the students will get an edge on the job front with the help of the skills and knowledge that they develop during the various programmes.
