The University of Bergamo (UniBg) is situated in the picturesque Italian city of Bergamo. It was established on 11th December 1986 as a public university. The university was originally named as the āInstitute of Foreign Languages and Literatureā. It comprises of six departments:
Department of Arts and Philosophy
Department of Economics and Business Administration
Department of Engineering
Department of Foreign Languages and Communication
Department of Law
Department of Human and Social Sciences
The university offers a total of 8 postgraduate degree programs in varied specializations of Science and has recently introduced various undergraduate and diploma courses in Law, Pedagogy and Tourism. UniBg has three main campuses: the Campus of Economics and Law located in Central Bergamo, the Campus of Humanities in the medieval upper city, and the Campus of Engineering in the industrial area of Dalmine, which is about 8 kilometres away from Bergamo. The programmes are taught in English and Italian. The University of Bergamo is a state university with a student population of about 16,000 undergraduates and graduates and more than 300 PhD students.
