History, Affiliations, and Rankings

The University of Findlay started its journey as the Findlay college, founded in 1882 by the city of Findlay and the Churches of God General Conference. Findlay College became the University of Findlay in 1989. The University of Findlay has been affiliated with the colleges and universities in the State of Ohio, and the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. Athletically, the University of Findlay has been affiliated with NCAA Division II. Times Higher Education rankings had given the University of Findlay a rank greater than 600 in US college rankings of 2022, and US News and World Report have given it a rank of #263 in the National Universities.

Infrastructure, Campuses, and Courses

The University of Findlay has a beautiful red brick campus in the city of Findlay, Ohio. The Campus also includes the Mazza Museum of International Art from Picture books, which houses the largest collection of children’s books in the United States. Many programs of the University like the English equestrian program and the western equestrian program are recognized nationally. The University has a college of Business, a College of Education, a College of Health Professions, a College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, a College of Pharmacy, and a College of Sciences.

Accomplishments and Alumni 

The Princeton Review has named the University of Findlay as the best 4-year institution in the Midwest. The wall street journal named the University of Findlay in its 2021 rankings for the best schools. College factual also named the University of Findlay as the best college affiliated to a church of god. Many Notable alumni like R. Clint Cole, U.S. Representative, Ralph D. Cole (U.S. Representative), and Joanie Dodds (American fashion model) have graduated through the University of Findlay.

Student Diversity and Visiting Companies

The University of Findlay has suggested that International students make up about 5.4% of its student body. There are nearly 100 student organizations in the University including clubs, student media, student government, performance arts groups, service clubs, academic honorary organizations, spiritual life groups, greek sororities, and fraternities. The University of Findlay provides career services to all the students helping them in getting interviews and internships, making their resumes and providing them with practice interviews.
