Celebrating its 135th anniversary in the year 2015, the Osaka City University is a first-of-its-kind municipal public educational institution in the booming city of Osaka, Japan. Both the Times Higher Education Rankings and QS Rankings have placed Osaka City University at 38th and 24th places respectively. The campus is home to 8,252 students, 80% were undergraduate students, who are catered to by 1,047 experienced and awarded professors and staff members, 39 international and 1,008 Japanese. Out of total enrollment, international students account for a total of 300 places. It has eight highly regarded faculties and ten specialised graduate schools covering the disciplines of business, law, science, engineering, nursing, medicine, literature and human sciences, human life science, urban management, etc between them. Its dedication and significant contribution shows in the long list of research centres and facilities on campus. This includes the Research Centre for Human Rights, Research Centre for Artificial Photosynthesis, the Media Centre and Library and the Research Centre for Finance and Securities along with a business incubator amongst others. The university also houses a sports centre, English education centre, iconic botanical gardens and an academic extension centre.
