Novosibirsk State University is a premier Russian university for higher studies established in 1959. It is located in Novosibirsk, southern Siberia in the world-renowned research hub of the Russian Academy of Sciences - Akademgorodok, comprising of 70 research labs and around 50 research institutes investigating various scientific and mathematical fields. NSU is known to produce Russia’s academic elites every year since its existence after the integration of the principles of science and education encouraging research activities within students through the involvement of prominent scientists in its teaching programs. Novosibirsk State University offers 23 bachelor's, 17 master's and 13 postgraduate programs along with 1 speciality course and 9 residency lines in the medical faculty to more than 7250 registered students. Moreover, it has six international partnerships in the disciplines of Physics, Astrophysics and Elementary Particles and also 12 existing alliances with the Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. NSU’s academic programs are divided into 6 departments, 3 institutes, 1 specialized centre and 1 college. The university also provides language courses for students with various levels of Russian. It is interesting to know that two alumni of NSU are on the list of Russia’s 200 richest businessmen on 2016 Forbes: Viktor Kbaritonin and Yegor Kulkov.
