The New School traces its roots back to the New School for Social Research which was established in the year 1919. Located in New York City, New School is a privately funded, research-based institute of higher learning. It offers 134 undergraduate, graduate, and diploma programs to more than 10,000 students from 116 countries across 5 departments. The 5 schools namely are, The New School for Social Research, School of Public Engagement, College of Performing Arts, the Parsons School of Design, and Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts. Some of the most popular majors at the school are Fine and Studio Arts Management; Fashion and Apparel Design, Liberal Arts and Humanities, Web Page and Digital Design, Interior Design, Music, Illustration, and Graphic Design. New School offers an array of student services, recreational activities, clubs, organizations, wellness and health activities, and public programs on its main campus in New York and in its Paris campus.
