New College Durham is a sixth-form college plus an additional higher education college in County Durham, England. It was founded in 1977 when Neville's Cross College of Education and Durham Technical College merged together. The college obtained permission to build a new £37 million campus at Framwellgate Moor in 2002. The college is now one of the main providers of quality-assured Higher and Further Education in County Durham. It also won the QAA Quality Mark for achieving or matching UK requirements and quality expectations. Foundation Degree Awarding Powers were granted to the College in 2011, making it one of only two in the country. New College Durham offers a wide range of foundation, bachelor's, master's, professional, and apprentice courses and degrees in a plethora of fields of study such as arts, design, business, management, engineering, counseling, education, media, health, social work, sports, and tourism. The college is one of County Durham's largest Sixth Form Centres, with an impressive team of distinguished teachers and over 200 foreign students from around the world.
