Established in the year 1943, Kasetsart University is a public research university situated in the Chatuchak area of Thailand. Started as the College of Agriculture, it now offers courses in Life Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences, Engineering, and Science. The university is one of the oldest and also the 1st agriculture university in Thailand. Built on sprawling 135 hectares of land, the Kasetsart campus is the main campus hosting more than 38,000 students who are enrolled in courses spread across 15 faculties. The other branches are located at Si Racha, Chalermphrakiat Sakon Nakhon Province, and Kamphaeng Saen. The university also houses research institutes that are working in areas like Food Research and Product Development, Silk Development, Agro-Industrial Product improvement, and Nanotechnology in Agriculture. Its Agriculture and Forestry subject is ranked 51-100 in the QS World University Ranking-2019. Prince Sithiporn Kridakara (1967 Ramon Magsaysay Award winner), and Khemanit Jamikorn(TV actress, singer, and model) are some of the noted alumni of the university
