History, Affiliations and Rankings
Jonkoping University was founded in 1977 and is one of Sweden's three private, non-profit higher education institutions with the capacity to confer doctorates. This university follows national degree rules and quality specifications, and it is affiliated with the Swedish government. According to the CWUR 2021, the university’s world rank is 1888 and its national rank is #18.
Infrastructure, Campuses and Courses
This university's campus is located in Jonkoping's city centre, about a 5-minute walk from the central station. A library, cafes, computer labs, career centre, and health care services are among the student-friendly features available on campus. The computer laboratories are open 24 hours a day, and there is high-speed Wi-Fi across the campus. Students with an authorised permit have access to on-campus parking facilities. The students' health care service is a free programme that allows students to talk to counsellors or nurses anytime they need help. Jönköping International Business School, the School of Health and Welfare, the School of Engineering, and the School of Education and Communications are among the six divisions that make up the Jönköping University Foundation. At the undergraduate and graduate levels, this university offers more than 80 different programmes.
Accomplishments and Alumni
Jonkoping University has produced a number of prominent individuals who have proceeded on to have successful careers. Entrepreneur Erica Salonius, Sara Ekberg, who is presently working with the University of Queensland, Simon Werner-Zankl, co-founder of Trustcruit, and Lukas Charitonovas are among them. Many additional successful alumni of this university can be found all over the world. Also, Stefan Larsson (CEO of PVH), Johan Wiklund (Swedish Author), and Adnan Dibrani (Member of the Swedish Parliament) were also the associated members of the university.
