History, Affiliations and Rankings
Florida Polytechnic University is a public university in Lakeland, Florida. It is the newest of the State University System of Florida's 12 institutions, having been established as an independent university in 2012. It is the only public polytechnic university in the state dedicated completely to STEM education. The university is accredited by Space-grant colleges. Florida Polytechnic University's ranking in the 2022 edition of Best Colleges is Regional Colleges South #3 as per US News and World Report.
Infrastructure, Campuses and Courses
The university was founded in 1988 as a branch campus of the University of South Florida. In 2008, the state of Florida approved a new campus, which was renamed the University of South Florida Polytechnic. It covers an area of 170 acres. The university is popular for STEM courses and is also considered a STEM-centric institute. Some of the top-studied courses are Business Analytics, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, etc.
Accomplishments and Alumni
The university's primary facility is the 162,000 square-foot Innovation, Science, and Technology (IST) Building. It has 26 classrooms, teaching and administrative offices, the Saddle Creek Logistics Commons, which spans 11,000 square feet, and seven labs, including a 3D printing lab, cybersecurity lab, and health informatics lab. Also, the STEM courses offered by the university are well prepared and motivate students to level up and think beyond academics.

Florida Polytechnic University has over 1300 students enrolled in undergraduate and postgraduate courses. This university is also giving the chance to students who want to take part in internship programs and also get hired as full-time employees. It has collaborated with major industrial corporations including the Florida Department of Transportation, Microsoft, Cisco, Mosaic, etc.
