Cumberland College is a popular regional-based college located in Canada that offers post-secondary education in an array of fields. It was initially founded in the year 1974 as Cumberland Community College and then later on in the year 2008, it was named Cumberland College. Its valuable collaborations or associations with renowned academic institutions like the University of Regina, University of Saskatchewan, Saskatchewan Polytechnic, etc help students gain better educational experiences.
Infrastructure, Campuses and Courses
The institution comprises five campuses. Its main campuses are located in Melfort and Saskatchewan while others are located in Nipawin, Tisdale and Hudson Bay. The college envisions Dream, Believe, Achieve and Inspire; thus, strives to be an ideal destination for holistic development. Cumberland College offers academic progress, college certificate and diploma programmes, and university programmes in a wide range of disciplines and trades. Students can get career counselling and other support services from the college, which can help them succeed.
Students can earn a Grade-12 equivalent credential through ABE training, which helps them move to post-secondary school or work. Work key skills are the foundational skills that make learning all other skills easier. They are required for success in work, learning, and life. In collaboration with the University of Saskatchewan and the University of Regina, some university programmes are offered at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Individuals and businesses in the region benefit from the college's strong continuing education programme, which includes first aid, safety, and corporate training. Yellow Quill First Nation and Shoal Lake Cree Nation are two Indigenous learners and communities with which the college has significant ties. Paul Chitwood (American Baptist Minister), Albert Robinson (Former Kentucky State Senator), James Crawford (American Former Basketball Player) are the famous people associated with the university.

The overall number of students enrolled at CU is around 2,550. There are 1,827 undergraduate students and 53 graduate students. Women make up 55 per cent of the full-time undergraduate population at CU, while men make up 45 per cent.
