History, Affiliations, and Rankings
Buckinghamshire New University (BNU) is a public university with campuses in High Wycombe, Aylesbury, Uxbridge, and Great Missenden in Buckinghamshire, England in the UK. The Wycombe Technical Institute, High Wycombe College of Technology and Art, and the Buckinghamshire College of Higher Education are all names given to the institution, which was founded in 1891 as the School of Science and Art. From 1999 to 2007, when its candidacy for university status was approved, it was a university college. The university is a member of the GuildHE, and according to the Complete National Rankings 2022, it is rated #102. Having said that, the university is also ranked #102 in the Complete University Guide's University League Tables 2022.
Infrastructure, Campuses, and Courses
The University has four campuses: High Wycombe Campus (formerly the High Wycombe College of Art and Technology), a site in Uxbridge in the London Borough of Hilling don, which has been a thriving base for nursing students and applied healthcare research since 2009, a campus in Aylesbury, and a conference centre known as Missenden Abbey. The University sold two existing sites in 2008: the Chalfont Campus (near Little Chalfont) and the Wellesbourne Campus (near Hazlemere). Bucks New University provides a wide range of undergraduate and graduate degrees in a variety of fields. Various academic institutions offer these programs. Aside from these degrees, the institution also provides a variety of CPD courses. These are part-time certificate programs in a variety of educational fields.
Accomplishments and Alumni
Buckinghamshire New University is proud of its national and international accomplishments, as well as the awards it has won and been nominated for in a variety of fields, including Nursing Associate Trainee of the Year and Student Placement of the Year: Hospital at the prestigious Student Nursing Times Awards held at the Grosvenor House on Park Lane in London. According to the NSS Survey, the Student Union of this university was ranked first in the UK in the year 2018 and third in the year 2019. The university is also a prestigious recipient of the silver award by the Teaching Excellence Framework. Bucks New University's alumni network is well-established. As a Bucks University graduate, you automatically become a member of the alumni association. The alumni organization is made up of Bucks New University graduates and former students from all eras. Student Diversity and Visiting Companies
The university's general mission is to create an atmosphere that "inspires study, develops potential, broadens involvement, and ambitiously changes lives." They work to do this by ensuring that their workplace is "not just free of any sort of prejudice, but actively celebrates and cherishes diversity." They organized a variety of various activities in honour of Black History Month in October 2020 to promote black culture and enrich its pupils. Buckinghamshire New University is known as the Placements Plus University. There are adequate options for every degree from every study program or course completed. Regardless of the degree, students will be able to choose from a variety of industry-related possibilities at the institution. The University takes great effort to provide students with job-relevant abilities and experiences that will help them raise their resumes and CVs to corporate levels. Close university ties, such as Thames Valley Police, Wycombe Wanderers, and the NHS, to name a few, give excellent internships and placements.
