History, Affiliations and Rankings
A public University in Bath, England, Bath Spa University was established in 1852, as the Bath School of Art. Later, it expanded to form the Bath College of Higher Education. In 1992, the institution gained degree-awarding powers, and received its University status in March, 2005. With more than 180 years of tradition, Bath Spa University has been nurturing creative thinkers and professionals through its diverse and unique courses at the most stunning locations in the UK. It is academically affiliated with Universities UK and the Association of Commonwealth Universities. It is also a partner institution of Santander Universities, which offers academic and employability opportunities to the students, such as international mobility. Infrastructure, Campuses and Courses
Spanning four spectacular locations in the city of Bath, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, Bath Spa University features one of the most beautiful campuses in the UK. These are the Newton Park campus, the Locksbrook Campus, the Sion Hill campus and the Corsham Court campus, which blend period buildings with technology-enabled learning spaces. The Newton Park campus is modern University campus stretched across a beautiful parkland estate, which has a castle and a lake, where you can take lunchtime walks. Bath Spa University offers academic programs at the Undergraduate level as well as Postgraduate study and research options across its 7 constituent Schools. Accomplishments and Alumni
In February, 2022, Bath Spa University became a certified member of the Social Enterprise UK (SEUK), which is leading global authority and the largest network social enterprises in the UK. Also, Bath Spa’s Placement Team was one of the 19 winners of the National Undergraduate Employability Award for the Most improved Commitment to Employability. This is direct reflection of the Graduate outcomes at the University, with 95% of undergraduates and 98% of postgraduates securing employment or enrolled in further studies within 15 months of graduation. Bath Spa University holds Silver Accreditation for Hedgehog Preservation by the the British Hedgehog preservation Society, which also aligns with the University’s commitment for a more sustainable, environment-friendly campus.
