A top 100 University in Denmark, Aarhus University is the largest and second oldest university in Denmark, that was founded on September 11, 1928. What began with 64 students enrolled in “University Studies in Jutland,” is today is a dynamic, modern and international University educating 38,000 students from worldwide. Studying at Aarhus University, students get the best opportunities and resources in academics and research while experiencing one of the best student cultures offered by Denmark. The university has affiliations with prominent academic bodies including, the Coimbra Group, European University Association (EUA), and the Guild of European Research-Intensive Universities. The Times Higher Education ranks Aarhus University at #104 in the World University Rankings, #155 in the QS World University Rankings and #103 by USN Best Global Universities. 

Infrastructure, Campuses and Courses

Aarhus University has its main campus located in central Aarhus, encircling the University Park and at the heart of Scandinavia. It has two other campuses at Herning and Emdrup along with research centers across the country. The infrastructure of the campus includes a wide variety of buildings spanning a large area. Each building has been constructed with the same yellow brick and roofing tile. This makes the whole campus have a unified appearance with common design motifs. Aarhus is academically structured into 5 Faculties, namely Arts, Natural Sciences, Technical Sciences, Health and Business, and Social Sciences. These faculties are sub-divided into 25 academic departments that collectively offer 113 Master’s degrees out of which 59 are taught in English. The University offers a combined Masters+PhD program which helps students in streamlining their courses. Three Bachelor’s programs offered at Aarhus University are taught in English, which are - Cognitive Science, Economics and Business Administration, and Global Management and Manufacturing

Students will imbibe the “Dane” way of life, at the core of which is being relaxed and comfortable and also, building trust and intimacy with others. Quacquarelli Symonds (Q.S.) is a corporation based in the United Kingdom that specialises in the analysis of higher education institutions worldwide. Nunzio Quacquarelli launched the company in 1990. It publishes the Q.S. World University Rankings every year. The Q.S. rating, which is considered one of the three most widely read university rankings globally, is approved by the International Ranking Expert Group (IREG). The institution uses six metrics, namely Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation, Faculty/Student Ratio, Citations per faculty, International Faculty Ratio and International Student Ratio, that effectively capture university performance. It also publishes rankings in Young universities, Graduate Employability, and Subject Rankings. The company's rankings of Best Global universities are well-known among the wider population and significantly impact admission trends. The inaugural "America's Best Colleges" report was released by the U.S. News & World Report in 1983. Since 1985, the rankings have been produced and published annually. The magazine U.S. News & World Report rankings are based on data collected from educational institutions through an annual survey, government and third-party data sources, and school websites. It also takes into account outside opinion polls of university faculty and administrators.
