Factors Affecting Acceptance Rate
Choosing the right university can open doors to a wide range of opportunities in your career. But the process of admission can be intimidating, as about 4 million people apply to colleges every year.
Have a look at some of the important factors that impact the acceptance rate to a university:
Available Slots
Local students usually have more open slots than international students.
Higher Competition Institutions
Some universities and colleges have changed their admission standards, making it harder for students to apply.
Relaxed Entry Requirements
Some colleges occasionally alter their eligibility criteria, which increases the possibility of getting admission.
Geographical Focus
Certain universities put their focus on some geographic areas, increasing the chances of admission for applicants from those areas.
Governmental Directives
The acceptance rates for both domestic and international applicants can be affected by governmental directives that change the seat allocation or form new specialisations within organisations, departments, or programs.
Global Student Enrollment Increase
The student population is rapidly increasing worldwide. This is causing the acceptance rates as more applicants computer for fewer available vacancies.
Campus Location
Many schools and universities offer a range of campus sites, providing students with more options. This leads to an increase in admission rates.

Hi we Swiss expatriates who have lived and worked in USA and we would like to retire to laufen where all relatives are. Our younger daughter is graduating top honors in 2016 and is preparing to apply for top us colleges. But we would like for her to come with us. Though fluent in Chinese and Spanish with ap exam scoring 5 and 4 respectively, she has no German foundation. I see classes are offered in English. Is it true of all majors? She is interested in neuroscience, psychology or biology and computer science. I would think she can catch up German fast but may not be the same . She is ranked at this time number one out of 516 students in high school in co.
