TOEFL Daily Speaking Topic: What changes have you felt since the COVID-19 lockdown was over?

Ans: I witnessed many significant changes by the end of the COVID-19 lockdown. The lifting of restrictions brought life back to people, and social interactions increased. While virtual communication was widely used, it could never replace face-to-face interactions. Meeting family members and friends in person was warmly welcomed back and enhanced the richness of direct communication with loved ones. Many public spaces, such as parks, restaurants, and theatres, reopened. All of this brought back a sense of normalcy in people’s lives, a mission long awaited. The ability to move freely, enjoy the company of loved ones, and breathe in fresh air made everything much more vibrant and enjoyable.

The end of the lockdown made people appreciate things that were earlier taken for granted. Taking a stroll in the park or having a meal with your near and dear ones in a restaurant felt more special. However, the post-lockdown period also brought many challenges. The new normal was not easy, but the end of the lockdown also marked very positive and hopeful turning points in people’s lives.
