Cornell University is offering financial assistance to first year international students. The scholarship is available on a need basis to transfer students as well. Undergraduate students who do not hold a US citizenship or a permanent resident status can apply. The scholarship benefit is determined on the basis of the estimated cost minus the contribution the student’s family can make. Interested students can apply for the scholarship before the deadline. Students must meet the eligibility requirements of the university to avail the financial aid. The university requirements are as follows:
- Must be a first year international applicant
- Must not hold permanent residency status or be a US citizen
- Must meet the admission requirements of the university
- Students with dual citizenship/refugees are not eligible for the financial aid
Cornell University International Financial Aid Application Process
To apply for the Cornell University financial aid students must complete the CSS profile by visiting the official website of the university. Next, the prospective student can review the preliminary Cornell financial aid estimate. Next, the University reviews the application and makes additional document requests (if applicable). Lastly, the prospective student can review the Cornell Aid offer letter. During spring, applicants will receive official aid .
Cornell University estimates the total expenses, including tuition and fees, accommodation expenses, books and supplies, dining expenses, travel, and miscellaneous expenses. Next, the university deducts the amount the student’s family can contribute from the estimated expenses. Cornell University then covers the remaining amount for the selected students.
