The Regent’s University London offers Robert McKee International Scholarships for 2024. The scholarship is given in partnership with the author Robert McKee to 1 student per term. International students taking up a Screenwriting and Producing with Foundation or Screenwriting and Producing course are given this scholarship. The scholarship amount is £7,000 per year of study, along with other benefits. However, this scholarship is only open to undergraduate students. You need to apply before 30 June for the September entry.

The eligibility requirements for the Robert McKee International Screenwriting scholarship are as follows:

  • You must be an international student enrolling for an undergraduate program at the university
  • The programme you are enrolling in must be BA (Hons) Screenwriting and Producing or A (Hons) Screenwriting and Producing with Foundation.
  • You must complete the task given for the application process

The Robert McKee International Screenwriting scholarship benefits are as follows:

  • You will receive an amount of £7,000 as tuition fees per year of study
  • Additionally, you will receive a complimentary place at the London Screenwriters’ Festival (when it is hosted at the university).
  • Moreover, you will receive a lead role in  Film, Media & Performance at the university

Robert McKee International Screenwriting Scholarship Application Process

To apply for the Robert McKee International Screenwriting Scholarship follow the steps below:

  • First, submit a short film script (with proper screenplay formatting) of up to 5 minutes in length
  • You must also submit a 1,000-word statement describing why being this scholarship scholar is important for you
  • Send in the statement and the script as attachments to [email protected].
  • If your application is shortlisted you will be contacted for a face-to-face/online interview with the members of the Film, Media & Performance team at the university
  • You can discuss your short drama script and the points you have mentioned in your statement during the interview.
  • Finally, when you clear the interview you will receive the scholarship
  • Ensure that you submit the tasks before the deadline.
