Boston University will host the 8th Annual Chart Champ Event on the 04th of October this year. The University has chosen the Metcalf Trustee Center besides the new Center for Computing & Data Sciences for hosting the event.
The Chart Champ is a big event for Data Analysts, Data Engineers, Senior Executives as well as students of the field. It is a mega event involving discussions, interactions and the development of new strategies in the field of Data Analytics.
This year’s discussions will be majorly based on the theme of market implications and business strategy. It is a festival for people of the ‘Data Community’ from any sphere of life and here is how students can benefit from it.
What Does the Chart Champ 2023 has for Students?
The discussions of the Chart Champ Championship will be aimed at bringing academia around Data Science close to the business world at the international industrial level. This event will connect the participating students and faculty with industry professionals and Data Experts.
The event will host a multitude of engaging discussions and present cutting-edge research in the field to all the participants. Apart from this students will also witness collaborations between experts and industries.
Established Data Strategists will also give presentations that will not only inspire but also guide youngsters to build their careers in Data Science. Additionally, there will be the Tableau Dashboard Competition, which is the highlight of the whole event at Boston University.

Are you thinking if you can participate in this competition? Well, if you are above 18, you can!
The contestants have to register for free and then follow the required steps to participate in the competition. After registration, candidates can use the data available on BU Public Data Sets, the US Department of Education, or Kaggle and build a dashboard.
However, participants need to submit the dashboard before September 22nd, 2023. After which, out of all the entries, the top 5 are selected to present their ideas at the event. Lastly, one of them is titled the Chart Champ of the Year.
This year’s competition is designed to focus on Higher Education. Moreover, the judges will analyse the dashboards based on design, functionality, storytelling as well as usability.
