Study in Canada: Apply Now for UBC International Scholarships; Deadline 15th January 2024

The University of British Columbia (UBC) is offering international scholarships to undergraduate students. There are mainly 2 types of scholarships available. They are the Outstanding International Student (OIS) Award, and International Major Entrance Scholarships (IMES). Moreover, the University dedicates £20 million annually to support international students.

The deadline for the applications is on January 15, 2024. History, Law, and Politics, People, Culture, and Society, Languages and Linguistics, Business and Economics, Health and Life Sciences, Earth, Environment, and Sustainability are some of the disciplines available at this university.

UBC Undergraduate International Scholarships 

The University of British Columbia is offering 2 undergraduate international scholarships. The university will consider applicants after issuing the offer letter.

1. Outstanding International Student (OIS) Award: The university grants a one-time merit-based scholarship to students who demonstrate exceptional academic records upon receiving an offer letter.
2. International Major Entrance Scholarships (IMES): This is a need-based and merit-based scholarship available to international students. The scholarships are provided for the 1st year and are renewable for up to 3 years. However, the number and level of scholarships can vary depending on the funding available. 

UBC Undergraduate International Scholarship Eligibility

To apply for the international scholarships, students must meet the eligibility criteria. The requirements are as follows:

• First-time student applying directly from high school or university
• Be an international student studying at UBC on a Canadian study permit
• Additionally, the student must demonstrate an exceptional academic record 
• The student must also demonstrate involvement in extracurricular activities and community service
• Moreover, he/she must meet the minimum English requirement
• Candidates nominated for a need-and-merit-based International Scholars award are ineligible to apply.

The deadline for the  OIS and IMES scholarships is on January 15, 2024. Interested students must apply before the same.
