Updated Processing Times 

Check below the updated processing times for different types of visa in Canada:

PR Cards and Citizenship (updated monthly):

  • Citizenship Grant: 7 months, reduced by 1 month since June 3
  • Citizenship Certificate (Proof of Citizenship): 3 months, no change since June 3
  • Renunciation of Citizenship: 13 months, no change since June 3
  • Search of Citizenship Records: 13 months, no change since June 3

Longer Processing Time for Vietnam Students for Australian Visa Approval

PR Cards (updated weekly):

  • New PR Card: 28 days, reduced by 14 days since July 30 and 48 days since June 25
  • PR Card Renewals: 72 days, no change since July 30, but reduced by 3 days since June 25

Spouse or Common-law Partner:

  • Outside Canada (outside Quebec): 10 months, unchanged
  • Outside Canada (Quebec): 35 months, increases by 3 months since July 3
  • Inside Canada (outside Quebec): 11 months, unchanged
  • Inside Canada (Quebec): 24 months, reduced by 4 months since July 3

Parents or Grandparents:

  • Outside Quebec: 24 months, unchanged
  • Quebec: 48 months, no change

Study Permit Outside Canada (varies by country):

  • India: 5 weeks, increased by 1 week since July 24
  • Nigeria: 6 weeks, increased by 1 week since July 24
  • United States: 12 weeks, increased by 3 weeks since July 24
  • Pakistan: 8 weeks, reduced by 1 week since July 24
  • Philippines: 7 weeks, reduced by 1 week since July 24

Study Permits:

  • Inside Canada: 11 weeks, increased by 1 week since July 24
  • Study Permit Extension: 64 days, increased by 6 days since July 24
