From 1st December, 2023 Malaysia has introduced a package of new visa settings, designed to make it easier for visitors and students to enter the country. This package of visa reforms is named as Visa Liberalisation Plan. As per this plan, visa requirements in certain areas have been made easier including a 30-day visa exemption for visitors from China to India along with a “multiple entry visa” mechanism that will allow the travelers to enter and exit the country for a period of 30 days and an extension of the validity period for visitor visas from 3 months to 6 months.
The liberalization plan features a new Graduate Pass (also known as the Social Visit Pass) that will allow the graduates of Malaysian degree programs to stay in the country for up to a year after graduation. Students are allowed to study, travel, or work part-time, during this one year.

The Social Visit Pass or Graduate Pass will only be available to students from 23 countries including Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Brunei, Japan, South Korea, Germany, the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Switzerland, etc. This pass is also available to the dependents of degree graduates in Malaysia provided they have a valid passport, health insurance, and a local sponsor.
