The Rhodes Scholarship is a prestigious scholarship available to international students to study at the University of Oxford. This is a fully funding, full-time postgraduate merit-based scholarship. The Rhodes Scholarships for India 2025 applications are now open. You can apply for the scholarship if you meet the eligibility criteria. The selection committee takes into consideration the academic excellence of the student. Moreover, mastery in teamwork areas such as music, debate, dance, theatre, etc is also considered. The deadline for the scholarship is August 1st 2024. 

Rhodes Scholarship Eligibility Criteria 

The Rhodes Scholarship eligibility criteria are as follows:

• You must be an Indian citizen and must have a valid Indian passport
• You must have completed your education from a recognised university in India for at least 4 years within the last 10 years. 
• You must have either completed 10th/12th at a school in India or must be in the final year of /completed an undergraduate degree program 
• Moreover, you must be between 18-23 years of age as of 1st October 2024. Older candidates must be below the age of 27 on 1st October 2024. Moreover, they must have completed the academic requirements for the 1st undergraduate degree (on or after 1 October 2023).
• You also should have completed an undergraduate degree (usually a Bachelor’s) by July 2025. Additionally, you must have met the academic requirements of the full-time undergraduate degree program at the University of Oxford.
• Those having a 1st class honours degree are preferred.

Rhodes Scholarship Benefits 

The benefits of the Rhodes Scholarship are as follows:

• Tuition fees for the entire course duration
• Additionally, a scholarship stipend is given. In 2023, the stipend was £19,092 per annum (£1,591 per month).  The amount is given to cover the accommodation and the living expenses of the student.
• Visa fees, and the fees for the International healthcare surcharge 
• Two economy flight tickets to and from the UK (starting and the end of studies in the UK)
• Those who transition to a 2nd course of study in the university will receive additional assistance to cover fees for visa renewal and further application 

You can apply for the Rhodes scholarship by submitting the application form on the official website before 01 August 2024. No application fee is charged for the scholarship. You are required to apply for the scholarship before you apply to study a course at Oxford University. Moreover, you ensure that you are submitting the relevant documents for the application process.
