Eligibility Criteria for Maitri Scholarship in Australia
The Australian University must be a registered Australian higher education provider under TEQSA and listed on CRICOS, and must be willing to nominate you. To be nominated for the scholarship, you must meet the basic eligibility criteria. It is listed below. The scholarship is applied to a university that will nominate you.
- You must be an Indian student
- Must be a new student in an Australian university.
- You must be approved for a Higher Degree by Research (Master’s by Research or PhD) in a STEM-related field by the university.
- Must commit to participating in scholarship program events and activities.
- Must hold a valid Australian student visa or subclass 500 for the duration of the scholarship
- Agree to follow the scholarship program guidelines

Two Types of grants are available under the scholarship program. They are as follows:

How to Apply for the Maitri Scholarship in Australia?

First, you must be nominated by an Australian University. You cannot apply directly. Direct applications from students are not accepted. Therefore, you must demonstrate your interest in studying at an eligible Australian university. Based on your academic merit, universities will nominate you.
