Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in New Delhi has claimed the top position in the Central University category per the prestigious Indian Institutional Ranking Framework (IIRF) University Ranking 2023. JNU’s remarkable academic excellence and research contributions have propelled it to the forefront of the list.
Following closely behind, Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi and Aligarh Muslim University in Aligarh secured second and third place, respectively.
Notably, the northeastern region of India has also demonstrated its educational prowess, with six universities making it to the top 20 Central Universities (Overall) list.
