Q. Describe a naturally beautiful place. Talk about where it is located, what it looks like and when you first went there.

Ans. One of the most naturally beautiful places that I have ever visited is the Valley of Flowers, located in the Chamoli district of Uttrakhand, India. It is part of the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve and is renowned for its breathtaking meadows that have various colourful flowers, against snow-capped Himalayan peaks.

During the monsoon season, specifically from June to September, the entire valley transforms into a vibrant carpet of blooming flowers. There are over 300 species of flowers including rare and exotic varieties such as blue poppy and many others. The lush greenery of the valley is contrasted by towering mountains, which are often surrounded by mist, that create an ethereal atmosphere. The valley is also home to many endangered species such as snow leopards and musk deer.

I first visited this valley last year, when I was part of a trekking expedition that was organised by my college. The journey to the valley was both challenging and exhilarating, where we crossed several streams and waterfalls. As we entered the valley, I was immediately captivated by the overwhelming beauty and serenity of the place. The vibrant colours of the flowers, the crisp mountain air, and the distant sound of flowing water created an almost surreal experience. We spent two days exploring the valley, taking numerous photographs, and simply soaking in the natural splendour.
