World Pharmacists Day History

World Pharmacists Day was created by the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) in 2009 at the World Congress of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Istanbul, Turkey. FIP was established on 25 September 1912. Therefore, September 25 was designated as World Pharmacists Day.

Raising awareness through World Pharmacists Day is only one of the ways the FIP aims to achieve one of its main goals, which is to “advance pharmacy practice on a global level”.

The organisation that represents pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, and pharmaceutical education globally is called FIP. It is a non-governmental organization, and the Netherlands serves as its headquarters. It is a global organization that speaks for millions of chemists, pharmaceutical researchers, and pharmaceutical educators. Through its alliances and networks, it promotes the growth of pharmacy.
