The Narendra Modi Stadium, formerly known as Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium, has a rich history in Indian cricket.
The stadium was originally inaugurated in 1982. It was named after Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, one of the Ministry of Affairs and the first deputy prime minister of India.
In February 2020, the stadium underwent a significant renovation and was renamed the Narendra Modi Stadium in honour of India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
