Getting into IIM can be a dream for many students and there is always a war between students to get there because of the tough competition. There are not just graduates but also 12th-pass students who are seeking admission into IIM colleges. Today in this blog, I will cover each and every aspect of how to get into IIM. Here are some common ways to easily take admission.

📃 How to Get into IIM After 12th?

The first question that I get a lot is from students who have just passed their 12th class and want to have a bright future is how to get into IIM after 12th? Well to straightway get into IIM college after class 12th you simply need to clear the IPMAT exam followed by the personal interview.

This entrance is conducted by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM). For this exam, your class 10th and 12th marks will not impact you directly. To seek a successful admission, you are required to clear a personal interview round organized by IIM Indore only. In this interview round, you will be asked questions related to academic brilliance.

📙How To Get into IIM without CAT?

Another query that I get mostly is how to get into IIM without CAT. The answer to this question is simple, you have to take the JIPMAT exam. The exam is being conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). 

The good news is that multiple IIMs including, IIM Jammu, IIM Bodh Gaya, IIM Rohtak, and IIM Indore have this program where you can admit yourself without appearing for CAT.

GMAT

Another way to enter into an IIM college without a CAT is by taking the GMAT exam. It is for students who want to study for a one-year full-time MBA. Various IIMs accept this GMAT score, however in order to take this test, you minimum need to score 5 percent marks in class 12th.

👩‍🎓 How to Get into IIM by Giving CAT?

The most decent way to enter into an IIM is by giving the CAT. Below are the three stages that you need to follow.

• Step 1- The first step is to attempt the Common Aptitude Test conducted by the IIMs.
• Step 2- After securing a decent score and meeting the cut-offs as well as the composite score, you will be called for a Written Test/Group Discussion and Personal Interview (PI). Also, you need to get 2 letters of recommendation from your known ones for your academic and professional validation.
• Step 3- In the last step the college will provide you the offer letter. However, it will be strictly on the basis of the final aggregate score and other relevant factors.

How Much Percentile is Required for IIM? 

The cut-offs for cut-offs for the CAT top colleges usually range as below.

Category	General Percentile Required
General	98-100 Percentile
Reserved Category	95-98 Percentile

If you want to be admitted into MBA colleges like FMS, MDI, and SPJIMR, the percentile required can range between 90 to 99 percentile.

How to Get into IIM: Admission Process/Eligibility

Below are the eligibility points that have to be fulfilled to get admission into IIM.

• You need to score at least 50% in your graduation if you belong to the general, EWS, and NC-OBC categories. For the SC, ST, and PwD categories, 45% is required.
• Candidates in their final year of graduation are also eligible
• Candidates must meet the minimum cutoffs to participate in the WAT/PI rounds and expect interview calls.

Admission Process at IIM

In order to get admission into IIM you will need to fill out the application form on the official website of IIM Indore and IIM Rohtak. It gets out generally in the month of February every year. As soon as you fill out the form you will be eligible for the other steps of the admission process including taking an entrance test and securing good marks.
