How to Choose UPSC CDS Exam Centres?

You can choose the exam centre while filling out the online application form. You can select up to 3 maximum exam centres, if the capacity of the first one is filled, you will get the next applied one. Keep in mind that you can not edit your exam centre once you submit the form.

UPSC CDS Exam Centre Allotment Process

Following is the allotment process for the CDS exam centres.

  • The allotment for these is done on the first apply first allot basis.
  • Except Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Nagpur, and Dispur every exam centre has limited capacities.
  • If you do not get the exam centre of your choice, you will have to choose from the remaining ones.
  • The allocated exam centre details are mentioned on the CDS Admit Card.

Things to Carry at UPSC CDS Exam Centre

You are required to carry a CDS 2023 admit card and Valid photo identity proof to a UPSC CDS exam centre. Apart from this, the following items are also allowed into the examination hall.

  • One or two photographs
  • Transparent water bottle
  • Photo ID card
  • Face mask
  • Hand sanitiser

Guideline to Follow at a UPSC CDS Exam Centre

You are required to follow the given guidelines at a UPSC CDS exam centre.

  • You must reach the allotted exam centre 60 minutes before the commencement of the exam.
  • You must carry one photo ID proof along with your CDS admit card.
  • Mobile phones, calculators, and other IT gadgets are not allowed in the examination.

Apart from all this, you will have to follow the dress code set specifically for boys and girls.

Dress Code for Boy Candidates

  • You are not permitted to wear a cap, hat, or muffler inside the examination hall.
  • You cannot carry any hand bracelet or any electronic device.
  • Any kind of footwear, including shoes is not allowed.
  • Also, you are not allowed to wear shorts at the examination hall.

Dress Code for Girl Candidates

  • Girl candidates cannot carry any jewellery inside the examination centre.
  • Designed and artificial items are also not entertained inside the examination centre.
  • You are not allowed to bring any bags to the examination hall.
  • Any kind of footwear, including shoes is not allowed inside the examination.

How many seats are there in CDS 2023?

For the year 2023, there are a total of 349 vacancies announced for the Indian Air Force, Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Officer’s Training Academy.

No, you are not allowed to change your exam centre after submitting your application.
