The competition is quite high as each year around 12 lakh students appear for this examination, among which only 2 lakh students can actually clear it. The most important rule in the JEE exam is the negative marking.

Negative marking is a deduction of certain marks when you attempt a wrong answer. It is basically your one, two, or more marks will be deducted if you fail to attempt the right answer. In this scenario, it is better to leave the questions that you are unassured of, rather than giving them wrong answers.

📟 How Negative Marking is Calculated?
There is a set number of marks, that are deducted for each answer that you attempted wrong. For example, there is a rule that for every wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted, which means if you will attempt four wrong answers your 1 mark will be deducted. At the end of your total score, these negative marks will be deducted.
Is there any Negative Marking in the JEE Main 2023 Exam?
Yes, there is a negative marking in the JEE Main 2023 exam. According to the JEE exam pattern 2024, you will get 4 marks for every correct answer. Following this, 1 mark will be deducted if you answer any question incorrectly. No marks will be given to the questions that you leave un-attempted.
