ILICAT Exam: The Indian Law Institute (ILICAT exam) conducts the Indian Law Institute All India Common Admission Test, i.e. ILICAT. The Indian Law Institute was founded in the year 1956 to promote and conduct legal research. Given its long-standing presence and continued tradition of providing high-quality legal education, the Indian Law Institute has now become one of the most recognised and reputable law schools in India.

ILICAT 2023 Important Dates

ILICAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria 

The ILI determines the eligibility criteria for the ILICAT. A candidate can only be allowed to take the exam if he/she fulfils the pre-decided criteria. The criteria for candidates wishing to pursue LLM and PhD by means of ILICAT 2023 are given below:

PhD	Completion of LLM degree with a minimum of fifty-five (55) per cent marks from any university/institution recognised by The Bar Council of India (BCI).

It is important to note here that candidates who have already cleared the UGC NET Law are exempted from appearing for the ILI CAT 2023 PhD exam. 

Syllabus for ILICAT Exam 2023 

The ILICAT exam covers two distinct courses, i.e., LLM and PhD. To clear this examination, candidates must not only be aware of the syllabus but also try and cover the complete syllabus. A good understanding of the syllabus is often considered the foundation and building block of a good preparation strategy. The detailed syllabus for the ILICAT exam is discussed below:

Exam Pattern for ILICAT 2023

For a candidate to clear an examination, it is important to be well-versed with the syllabus as well as the exam pattern so that candidates can plan their preparation as well as time. Candidates who are aware of the exam pattern tend to do better because they pre-identify their strengths and weaknesses and attempt the exam accordingly. Further, since the exam contains both objective questions such as MCQs, true-false, etc. as well as subjective questions such as essays, being aware of the exam pattern can help you gain an edge over the exam. The exam pattern for both the LLM and PhD exams is discussed below:-

Candidates who clear the LLM exam will then be selected for an interview carrying a weightage of twenty (20) marks. While there is no set pattern for the interview, candidates can be quizzed on their legal and general knowledge as well as their candidature and personal interests. Candidates should try and keep up to date with the latest developments in the relevant fields and talk politely yet confidently in the interview. 

Application Process for the ILICAT 2023

To enrol for the ILICAT 2023 exam, candidates must submit the application form online on ILI’s official website, i.e. www.ili.ac.in.

Application Fee for ILICAT 2023

The application fee for the ILICAT 2023 for LLM and PhD courses is noted below:

Important Points to remember:

• The fees listed above apply to all candidate groups.
• The willing applicant must pay a separate application fee of Rs. 2000/- + Service Charge for the various PG Diploma Programs available at the University.

ILICAT Exam Marks Relaxation Criteria

As per the table below, the candidates will be granted category-wise relaxation:

ILICAT 2023 Admit Card

The ILI CAT 2023 Admit Card will be provided on the official website following the successful submission of the form.

• Applicants will be able to download the Hall Ticket as soon as it is available, and it will be available until the exam day.
• If a candidate is unable to download it from the internet, the Admit Card and Roll Number will be emailed to them.
• Applicants are recommended to keep the Admission Ticket safe until the admissions process is completed.
• In addition to the Hall Ticket, applicants must bring original identification documents such as Aadhar Card, Passport, PAN Card, etc. for verification.

ILICAT Result 2023

The ILICAT 2023 results will be available on the official website of the relevant authorities.

• Candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance in the Indian Law Institute’s Entrance Test.
• The final merit list will be released based on the entrance examination marks and viva-voce (20 marks).
• A candidate will be considered chosen only if he or she participates in both parts (Entrance Exam and Vice-Voce).
• The scorecard will be made available for candidates to download from the official website.

ILICAT Counselling 2023

ILI CAT 2023 counselling will take place offline for those who are selected for the admission examination at the Indian Law Institute’s Delhi campus.

• The Indian Law Institute will have three rounds of counselling based on the merit list.
• Applicants are urged to keep checking the official website for updates, as no separate letter for therapy will be sent.
