How to Become a Member State of the ITU?
To become a member state of the ITU certain criteria have to be met. These criteria are listed below. Mainly, it depends on if the state is a member of the United Nations or Not.
- If the country is a member of the United Nations it becomes a member of ITU by acceding to the Consitution and the Convention of the ITU (Geneva,1992).
- If a country is not a member of the United Nations the state needs to apply for the same. The membership application needs to have secured approval by 2/3rd of the member states of the Union/
