The University of the Pacific was founded in the year 1851 and is a private university. It was founded as the first university of California. The university campus is spread across an area of 175 acres and has the city setting. The picturesque campus was used as backgrounds for different movies such as “All the King’s Men” and “Flubber”. The university makes use of a semester based calendar. The university also offers around 150 different student organisations for recreational as well as extra curricular activities. However, the university does not have its own football team. Apart from the numerous degree choices, the Eberhardt School of Business, the McGeorge School of Law and the Graduate School of Education are also part of the university.
The university is also home to notable alumni such as the billionaire Alex Spanos who owns the San Diego Chargers Football team and the founder of the Sports agency Boras Corp, Scott Boras. The university has 3 campuses:
1. Stockton campus
2. Sacramento campus
3. San Francisco
The students pursue programs in the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in the San Francisco campus. The university is popular for its pharmacy, law and dentistry courses. The university provides bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in over 90 programs. The university also provides over 125 clubs and organisations for the students on campus.
