History, Affiliations and Rankings
Established in 1956, the University of South Florida is a public research university in South Florida, USA. Today, it is the 4th largest university in South Florida and the 11th largest public university in the United States. It is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The university has academic affiliations with SURA, Sea grant and Space grant. Furthermore, it is also accredited to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The global rankings of this university stand between #581-590 by the QS World University Rankings, at #298 according to the U.S. News Best Global Universities Rankings 2022 and between #201-250 as per THE World University Rankings 2022. Nationally, it is tied at #228th place by the Forbes Rankings 2022.

Its three campuses are located in Tampa, St. Petersburg and Sarasota. The University of South Florida's 1,913-acre campus is one of the largest in the country. All its sports teams are known as the South Florida Bulls and primarily compete in the American Athletic Conference of NCAA Division I. This university's major accomplishments include the Grassroots Leadership Program, which has graduated over 485 community members, the Central American Youth Ambassadors (CAYA) and Cooperative Association of States for Scholarship (CASS) Programs, which are run in collaboration with Georgetown University and have graduated over 90 students from six Central American and Caribbean countries, and so on.
