University admissions decisions are based on academic criteria (ability and potential), and admissions officers expect to see evidence of students' broader engagement with academic interests, such as reading and other explorations relevant to the course for which they've applied. Extracurricular activities that have no bearing on the course will not improve a student's chances of being accepted.
