History, Affiliations and Rankings
Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, officially known as Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet, was established in 1977 in Ultuna, Uppsala, Sweden. The foundation of the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences was the result of the merger between three prominent existing separate Colleges, College of Veterinary medicine, College of Forestry and College of Agriculture. In addition to these three colleges, some smaller units of the agricultural institutes were combined into one organization in order to improve efficiency by sharing resources between departments. All three colleges had their own history and contribution to Sweden. The College of Veterinary in Skara was founded in 1775 and was headed by Peter Hornqvist, The Institute of Forestry was established in 1828 in Stockholm to introduce the people to forestry science and its application. The Agricultural College was founded in Ultuna in 1848 and in Alnarp in 1862 by the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture.
Campus, Courses and Infrastructure
The main campus of the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences U is located in Ultuna, Uppsala, Sweden. The university has several campuses in different parts of Sweden, the other main facilities being Alnarp in Lomma Municipality. Today, the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences has four faculties including the Faculty of Landscape Planning, Horticulture and Agricultural Sciences, Faculty of Natural Resources and Agriculture Sciences, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science and Faculty of Forest Sciences. Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences offers a wide range of programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Forest Science, Landscape Planning, Horticulture, Natural Science, Natural Resources, Minerals, Fossil Fuels, Veterinary, Animal Science, etc.

There are around 4,000 students enrolled in the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences with the presence of academic staff of 250 members. A significant proportion of these students are from across 50 countries around the globe. The university also ensures the development of transferable and industry-based skills to ensure placement opportunities for its outgoing students.
