On May 24, 1951, Osh State University, also known as Osh State Medical University, was established. Osh State Pedagogical Institute was the name used when it first started operating. Osh State Medical University had a modest beginning as a medical school before becoming a university on June 17, 1992. One of the most famous medical schools in the Kyrgyz Republic and a well-known institution in central Asia is Osh State University, a public university. The National Medical Commission and the World Health Organization (WHO) have recognised, listed, and accredited it (NMC).
