The University of Ontario Institute of Technology, corporately branded as Ontario Tech University or Ontario Tech, is a public research university located in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. The school was founded in 2002 via the University of Ontario Institute of Technology Act, 2002, passed by the Government of Ontario. Within 15 years of its founding, Ontario Tech earned a reputation for computer science, ranking among the top 10 programs in Canada and 4th in Ontario.The university houses more than 80 specialized research laboratories and facilities. Ontario Tech has its main campus spread across 400 acres in the northern part of Oshawa city, which is also known as the North Campus. It also operates a branch campus in the city center termed as the Downtown Campus. It has top-notch research facilities, which includes over 80 specialized laboratories.
