The European location of Kent State is situated in the historic Palazzo Vettori in Florence, where students can spend an exchange semester. In 2018, the Kent State campus was ranked the safest big college campus in Ohio and 25th safest in the country. Out of this around 3000 students are international who come from over 100 different countries. It was noticed that nearly one third of the total international population attended Kent State from India. The Kent State campus is diverse, welcoming and dynamic; there are 350+ student clubs for the students to socialize with their peers. There are also 15 splendid dining locations on the campus serving great food, including a food truck, which is the campus’ most popular. More than 1000 employers have recruited Kent State graduates across 16 countries worldwide. A public research educational institute, Kent State University was established in the year 1910. Situated in the city of Kent, the campus is spread on a sprawling 866 acres of suburban land. It also has 7 regional branches located at Ashtabula, Burton, Jackson Township, East Liverpool, Salem, Warren, and New Philadelphia. At present, 28,972 students are enrolled in more than 340 undergraduate, 200 postgraduate, and Doctoral programs across various departments. Out of these, 23,684 are pursuing undergraduate courses while 5,799 are enrolled in graduate degree programs. The university focuses on transforming education and thus has introduced an array of new courses like Environmental Science, Aerospace Engineering, Geographic Information Science, and Business Analytics. KSU houses an Advanced Materials and Liquid Crystal Institute which conducts exhaustive research and development activities in areas like wearable technology, nanomaterials, fuel cells, and organic semiconductors.  Kent State University has also been awarded the prestigious Healthy Campus Award which recognizes an institute's focus on the health and well-being of students.
