Located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad or IIM-A) is an public college. Built up in 1961, the foundation offers masters degree programs in the board and agri-business management, an association program and various official preparing programmes. The institute's establishing chief was Ravi J. Matthai. Other renowned establishing figures were Indian specialist Kasturbhai Lalbhai, and the Indian physicist Vikram Sarabhai.
The campus houses the academic blocks, student and faculty accommodation, faculty offices, the International Management Development Centre, the Vikram Sarabhai Library, the Louis Kahn Plaza, Incubation and Entrepreneurship, the Kasturbhai Lalbhai Management Development Centre,the R.J. Matthai Auditorium, the Centre for Innovation, sport facilities, several food outlets and merchandise stores. Students even have the facility for hostel accommodation. They are provided single room well furnished with basic resources like washing machine, TV and refrigerator. Married students can even live with their families in married student's hostel.
In 2015-16, 140 students from this institute spent one semester at member business colleges over North America, Africa, Europe, Australia, and the Asia Pacific area, whereas 87 students from remote schools spent a semester at IIMA for the same duration. Courses offered by IIM-A are Post Graduate Diploma Programme in Management (PGP), Doctoral (Fellowship) Programme (FPM), and many more.
