The Emporia State University was founded on 7 March 1863. It is a public university located in Emporia, Kansas. The university offers more than 80 courses through its schools and colleges: the College of Sciences and Liberal Arts, the school of business, the teacher's college, and the school of Information Management and Library. The university was established with a mission to bring changes in lives for the common good. In Kansas, The Emporia State University was ranked on #7 by the World report. The Emporia State University is considered as a Master's college according to the Carnegie Commission. The campus covers the area more than 234 acres. It has more than 5,877 students enrolled, 207 Administrative staff and 597 academic staff. The Emporia State University has a branch campus situated in Overland Park. The university also welcomes international students every year from other 35 countries. The university provides graduate and undergraduate courses in an array of specialisations of Arts, Commerce and Science. The official colour of Emporia School is gold and black. It also has its intercollegiate university sports department named as the Hornets.
