The College of William and Mary is a public research university, established in 1693. It has a complete undergraduate enrollment of 6,377, its setting is rural, and is spread across 1,200 acres of land. It is situated in Williamsburg, Virginia and is the second oldest school in the U.S. Lord William III and Queen Mary II of England. The institution offers 30 undergraduate programs and 10 graduate degree programs. Its exceptionally positioned doctoral level colleges incorporate the Marshall-Wythe School of Law, the first graduate school in the U.S., the School of Education, and the Mason School of Business. Undergraduate students can join the Phi Beta Kappa club, the country's first scholastic Greek society, just as different communities, and sororities. All first-year students are required to live on estates, and most of the upperclassmen live on parklands.
