Founded in 1958, Beijing University of Chemical Technology is a public-based technological university situated in China. Also known as Beihua, Beijing University of Chemical Technology offers mainly graduate, postgraduate, and doctoral degree programs. The Ministry of Education in China accredited the university. It has a status of double-first class in many disciplines of the university. It also holds the membership in Project 211 and also belongs to an institute of a scientific specialist. The campus area of the university is spread across 64.4 hectares of land. Currently, it receives more than 18,000 students enrolled in the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs. It comprises of ten leading faculties that are divided into various disciplines of Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Information Technology, Economic Management, Law, amongst others. Zhou Xiaochuan (Governor of the Bank of China), He Gouqiang (a member of the Politburo, the communist Party of China), and Cheng Wei (Founder of the Didi Chuxing) are notable alumni of the university.
