The southernmost latitude of India is 6°45′10″ N, which lies at Indira Point, located in the Nicobar Islands, a part of the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Indira Point is situated on Great Nicobar Island and represents the southernmost tip of Indian territory. It is surrounded by the Indian Ocean and lies much farther south than the southernmost point on the Indian mainland, Kanyakumari.
