Study in UK: University of Birmingham India Chancellor’s Scholarship Applications Open for 2024-25

The University of Birmingham is offering India Chancellor’s Scholarships to Indian students. The scholarship is open to postgraduate taught master’s students applying for Septemeber entry at the University. Under this scholarship, a total of 15 scholarships worth £4,000  are available for the selected students. The subject areas eligible for the scholarship are Engineering and Physical Sciences, Medical and Dental Sciences,  Social Sciences, and  Arts and Law. The scholarship is awarded based on the academic merit and the statement of purpose of the students.. The deadline for the application is on 31st May 2024. 

India Chancellor’s Scholarship Eligibility Requirements  

The eligibility requirements for the University of Birmingham India Chancellor’s Scholarship are as follows: 

• Must have selected the University of Birmingham as their firm choice and must have received an offer letter for a full-time postgraduate program starting in September 2024.
• The applicant must be entering the 1st year of the postgraduate course and must have met the academic requirements of the offer letter  
• The student must be domiciled in India and must be classified as an overseas fee-paying student. 
• The applicant must have paid the £2,000 deposit by the deadline mentioned in the officer letter. (Those who have received a full scholarship can request a refund after enrollment)
• Additionally, the applicant must have sufficient money to cover the cost of living at the University and any other additional expenses. For example, the cost of traveling, visa costs, etc
• The student must also submit the scholarship application after accepting the offer letter by the deadline  and commence their studies in September 2024
• Moreover, the student must pay the net tuition fees for the 1st year by November 1 

India Chancellor’s Scholarship Additional Conditions

The University of Birmingham India India Chancellor’s Scholarship additional scholarship conditions are as follows:

• The scholarship beneficiaries must complete the online registration and ‘Normally Register’ by 3 October. Otherwise, the university will withdraw the award
• If the student withdraws from the course, the scholarship will also be fully withdrawn
• Similarly, if the student defers from the program start date to September 2024, the student will not be eligible for the scholarship
• Distance learning courses, undergraduate programs, and postgraduate programs ( MPhil, MRes, MMus,  MLit, MBChB, MEng, MSci, and MPharm ) are not eligible. similarly, students enrolling in PGDip and PGCert are not eligible
• In accepting the scholarship, the student is expected to support the university for a reasonable period. For example, testimonials, engaging in ambassadorial activities, etc/

The India Chancellor’s Scholarship application results will announced in early July. They will select students based on their academic performance and SOP. They will award the scholarship upon enrollment in September 2024.
