Study in UK: Here's How Northamptonshire Students Celebrated World Music Day!
The World Music Day is celebrated in all parts of the world. Students from all over the world celebrate this event.

Several students from Weavers Academy in Northamptonshire, which is part of the Creative Education Trust recently perform a musical play. The play happened to celebrate World Music Day. The musical play is entitled ‘The Tale of Odysseus’. The play happened at the Castle Theatre in Wellingborough on Wednesday 21 June.

Students from other schools also took part in this play. Schools such as All Saints CEVA Primary School, Ruskin Academy, Olympic Primary School and Christopher Reeves VA Primary School took part in this.

All the students involved in this play were very excited to be a part of this. This feeds directly into their study of Ancient Greece.

What Was The Show About?

The show portrayed the amazing journey of Odysseus, which he took as he tried to avoid the draft, escape a Cyclops, and met the famed Sirens and the Herd of Helios. Several pop songs were also included in this play. These included Adele’s ‘Make You Feel My Love’, Katy Perry’s ‘Roar’, as well as classics like Bon Jovi’s ‘Living On A Prayer’.

About World Music Day

World Music Day also known as Fête de la Musique is an annual music celebration that takes place on 21 June. On this day, citizens and residents play music outside in their neighbourhoods or in public spaces and parks.

This event takes place to celebrate the global language of music. Globally, there are several events that occur on this day. 

The first World Music Day was observed in the year 1982 in France when people were urged to play music outdoors to participate in festivities. Since then, World Music Day has spread to other parts of the world and is now a global celebration of music.
