Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT) or the Atlantic Technological University (ATU) is offering non-EU scholarships. The scholarships are given as a tuition fee discount to the selected students. However, the eligibility requirements and the benefits differ based on the scholarship type. At present the tuition fees for undergraduate programmes are €10,500, and postgraduate programs are €12,000 per academic year. Those who require financial assistance can apply for the scholarships. The ATU International Scholarships do not require any separate application. Therefore, you will be considered for the scholarships at the time of admission.
English Language Attainment Scholarships
The English Language Attainment Scholarships are available to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. The scholarship amount depends on the English language proficiency test scores. You can either appear for the IELTS exam and attain the required score or prove the score equivalent to the same.
Country of Origin Scholarships
The Country of Origin Scholarships are given based on the nationality of the Individual. To be specific the GDP of the country where you come from. The maximum bursary amount you can receive under this is 15% towards your tuition fees. Moreover, the scholarship is available to UG, PG, and foundation programme students. Under any circumstances, you cannot combine English language Attainment Scholarships, and the Country of Origin Scholarships.
Continuation of scholarships
The Continuation of Scholarships or the scholarship renewal is available to students who have either received the English Language Attainment Scholarship or the Country of Origin Scholarship. Basically, for the scholarship renewal you need to quality each year with a minimum of 5% average in yearly examinations. However, if you are repeating a year you will not qualify.
Additionally, those who are progressing from the ATU UG programme to an ATU PG programme will receive a scholarship value of 20% off the tuition fees of the postgraduate programme.
